Course Description While rare, mass-casualty attacks have become a reality that communities must be prepared to face. This course provides civilians with practical knowledge for recognizing threats early, responding effectively, and helping protect others during critical incidents. Based on the USCCA Countering the Mass Shooter Threat curriculum, students will examine how these attacks unfold, what warning signs often precede them, and how individuals can respond decisively if confronted with active violence. The course emphasizes awareness, planning, and decision-making—because preparation begins long before an emergency occurs.
